Morales leads the Blue Jays over the Angels
With an explosive start to the game with five runs, the Blue Jays were able to hold off the Angels to win the game with those same five runs. Thanks to performances from the likes of light hitting Kendrys Morales and underperforming Josh Donaldson, J.A. Happ got all the insurance he needed in the first to pitch seven strong innings.
With Osuna on leave, it seems as if Tyler Clippard is being tested to see if he can claim the role as Toronto’s closer, a position he has struggled to fill since 2015.
Given the depth of the Angels lineup, I doubt that they will stay in the slump that they are in for all that much longer. The Blue Jays, unfortunately, may suffer as a result in the next few days.
