Belt Homers, Crawford goes 4 for 4, Big Panda breaks the game open

It was only three weeks ago that I had no plans to be in San Francisco this year. Thanks to a work project kick off with a new client; I found myself sitting at AT&T Park with a beer and Sheboygan Bratwurst in hand.

Behind in the fourth inning by two runs, hometown favourite Pablo Sandoval was put in as a pinch hitter, sacrificing his starting pitcher. It turned out to somehow be the correct decision with Big Panda coming up with a two-run double. Bruce Bochy’s “bold move” could have just as quickly turned out to be a risky failure. While Brandon Belt’s second home run into McCovey Cove in two nights was impressive, it Pablo who electrified the crowd and helped the Giants take the lead.

The Giants bullpen was strong, using five pitchers over four innings to keep the Reds bats silent. Hunter Strickland, their defacto closer, got the save to close out the game.
