Oakland Athletics 2 – Toronto Blue Jays 3

Game Recap   |   Box Score

Kendrys Morales, Walkoff Homerun

With the Blue Jays hitting silent most of the game thanks to a solid pitching performance by Paul Blackburn, the A’s cruised into the bottom of the 9th with an almost certain win. Little did they know that Justin Smoak and Kendrys Morales would pull off back to back home runs to walk off the A’s in spectacular fashion at the bottom of the 9th.

While Marco Estrada has struggled for much of the season with an ERA over 5.00, he looked sharp, if not overpowering. As he demonstrated in 2016, he has the ability to be an all-star pitcher, who seems this year to be suffering from confidence issues.

Personally, the game rolled along quickly as I was joined by my friend James Costa, the founder of a Toronto based digital agency called Phuse. On top of getting a chance to discuss our companies non-stop for almost three hours, we also got to cheer like mad people at the end of the game.
