Washington Nationals 2 – Philadelphia Phillies 6

When I mentioned to one of my Ownercamp friends that I would be coming to Philadelphia to visit and catch a Phillies game, he offered to take care of things and get us “The Best Seats in America”. As you can see from the photos below, he obliged.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Citizen’s Bank Park but it was a really nice ballpark experience. While it’s way out of the city (which isn’t the case with a lot of the newer parks that are right downtown) it’s pretty interesting to see a neighbourhood virtually dedicated to sports.

Seats were a few rows up from the field, along the 3rd baseline.

It’s my friend, the Philly Phanatic doing what it does best, dance!

I love the look of the lights as the sun starts to go down.

While the Nationals tried to make a comeback with runs in the 7th and 8th, the Phillies were in charge of this game from the 2nd inning onwards. From Sportsnet.ca:

“Jimmy Rollins homered twice and A.J. Burnett pitched 7 2/3 strong innings to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to their fifth straight victory, 6-2 over the Washington Nationals on Friday night.”

As the game was coming to an end my friends asked me if I’d had a Cheesesteak sandwich yet, and I hadn’t. They insisted that we head over to Tony Luke’s and end the game in classic Philadelphia fashion.
