Cavan Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig debuts
With ten strikeouts through 6 innings, one would expect that Trent Thornton would have a pretty good shot at getting a win. But with the Padres starter, Joey Lucchesi perfect through the 4th, the game ended being a pitchers duel that Trent couldn’t win.
In a game beset with frustrations for Toronto, like Daniel Hudson’s three runs in the 8th and a silent lineup other than the back to back home runs by Freddy Galvis and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the 5th, there was a reason to celebrate.
With Cavan Biggio’s debut tonight, Toronto has taken the next step in its rebuild. With Cavan’s — the son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio — debut, Toronto now has the first pair of teammates that are both the sons of Hall of Fame players.
