Robbie Ray advances his case for the Cy Young
With his fourteen-strikeout performance, Robbie Ray demonstrates why he is Toronto’s ace this season and the probable Cy Young Award winner. Proving his dominance, after he gave up two hits in the seventh, he ended the inning with two strikeouts that shut down Chicago. It was on his 111th pitch that he got Tim Anderson to swing so that he could celebrate and swagger off the field.
Given that the Blue Jays only took the lead in the eighth, the win ended up with Tim Mayza and the save awarded to Jordan Romano.
