Travis d’Arnaud singles to give Tampa the lead over Toronto

With only one run and four hits, the Toronto’s lineup was kept quiet by effective Tampa Bay pitching. After Diego Castillo opened the game for the Rays, Ryan Yarbrough came in the top of the second and took the Blue Jays into the seventh, allowing one run on a ground-rule double by Freddy Galvis to score Justin Smoak.

Travis d’Arnaud singled to left field at the top of the 5th to score Willy Adames and Ji-Man Choi, to give Tampa Bay a 3-1 lead. d’Arnaud’s two RBI’s were enough to secure a Rays win, for the second day in a row. Travis d’Arnaud has been the hottest hitter on the Tampa Bay squad over July, hitting .321 with six home runs over his last 15 games.
