Detroit Tigers 0 – Toronto Blue Jays 3

Five scoreless innings from Aaron Sanchez

Game Recap | Box Score

If ever an argument can be made that good pitching wins baseball games, the past two games are all the evidence that Toronto needs. With only three shutouts through all of 2018, executing two out of the first three games of the season bodes well. Even though Sanchez didn’t look completely sharp all game, his fastball speed has ticked back up to the 96 miles an hour range.

Justin Smoak’s first home run of the season added some padding to the other runs scored in the fourth, on hits by Brandon Drury and Billy McKinney.

After ending last season with a severe injury, it was sad to see Miguel Cabrera exit the game after being hit by a pitch in his hand.
