Marco Estrada scoreless through seven innings
While he has been wildly inconsistent this season, Marco Estrada threw a strong seven innings of scoreless ball. Instead of playing it safe with his pitch count — as the Blue Jays usually do — Marco was allowed to throw 110 pitches to get his win. With the bullpen depleted, I’m sure his performance helped to rest the six arms used in the previous game.
With this win, the Blue Jays win the series 2 games to 1, with a healthy Josh Donaldson leading the team with two home runs and an OBP over .750.
Reddit says…Blue Jays fan mrkdwd: “Estrada with 7 shut out innings, Bautista with the dong, and Osuna closes. Is it 2015 again?” / Yankees fan korook: “Good Guy Yankees: We gave Estrada his first win since May 27th. “
P.S. Aaron Judge was shut down for both games. I was there to see homers and all I got was strikeouts. No hits and three strikeouts to be precise. 🙂
