Gausman reaches 200 strikeouts

Proving yet again why he is the ace of the Toronto Blue Jays starting pitching rotation, Kevin Gausman has 200 strikeouts on the season. Pitching his 26th start of 2023, Gausman got seven strikeouts over a tough five innings, with Joey Meneses tagging him for two critical hits and 3 RBIs.

The Blue Jays hit well as a team, with only Dalton Varsho not getting on base. Danny Jansen hit a solo drive out of the park in the third and ended the night with three runs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. doubled in the second to score two runs, and Kevin Kiermaier topped off the scoring in the fifth with a strong single to right field to bring in Jansen.
