A three homerun fifth inning powers the Blue Jays win
With an all-day meeting booked at the last minute in Toronto, we checked the Blue Jays schedule to see if there was a game scheduled and the answer was a resounding yes. With the Blue Jays at 57-69, tickets were easy to come by and very reasonably priced. With seats right over the Toronto dugout, with a beer and hot dog in hand, we were in a good position to enjoy a Blue Jays win.
With an 8-2 victory over the Orioles, the win was driven by home runs from Kendrys Morales (for the third day in a row), Billy McKinney (his first MLB homer), Aledmys Diaz and Justin Smoak. After a slow start to his season, Morales has been on a tear, closing in on 20 home runs for the fourth year in a row.
