Expos play well but Pirates still end up winning

Things are getting tougher for the Expos. They played better than they have been and against a much stronger team — but they still lost.
This one took 10 innings and Grandpa Willie Stargel of the Pirates family had to almost literally deliver a knockout blow before the World champion Bucs survived 5-4.
“We’re being tested,” understated right-hander Steve Rodgers who pitched a super eight innings after one mistake in the first but had to be satisfied with a no-decision.
