After watching Marco Estrada struggle for much of this season it was a pleasure to see him confidently throw 8-innings of quality baseball. While he was tagged twice for home runs he seemed in command for the whole game.
The core of the Blue Jays lineup — Josh Donaldson, Justin Smoak, Jose Bautista, Kendrys Morales — accounted for 10 of the 11 hits in the game. Donaldson continues his tear with 4 RBI’s on 4 hits, two of which he crushed for home runs.
A few fans behind me spent a good chunk of the game curious why and slightly annoyed, that there were so many Blue Jays fans in the crowd. They felt invaded and overrun, which they honestly were. What’s interesting is that these Jays supporters were not all coming in from Toronto, but mainly from Canadian cities to the north of Minneapolis. I’m going to guess that the majority of fans were from Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon.
